Graduate Student Advisory Board

The CLAS/Commons Graduate Student Advisory Board is a voluntary, appointed board of graduate students and graduate alumni who serve at the invitation of the Dean of the College and the Director of The Commons and work directly with the College Office of Graduate Affairs (COGA) and The Commons.  The Board's Charter can be accessed here.

The objectives of the Board are:

  • To serve as a voice for students, providing the perspectives and feedback on issues of pressing concern to students and post-docs in the College.
  • To collaborate with COGA and The Commons and develop programming that brings interdisciplinary and creative outlets for better understanding and addressing topics of interest.

Nominations for the board are solicited on an annual basis in the early fall via an online nomination form as openings on the board become available. Nominations for membership will be accepted from faculty, staff, and students. Self-nominations are welcome. Students who have already served on the Advisory Board may serve a second year on the board, but no student may serve on the board for more than two years.

We are not accepting nominations for the board for the 2019-2020 term.
