Summary

Joel serves as the Gradate Academic Advisor for the Physics & Astronomy Department in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. He assists students and faculty with admission processes, student records, enrollment, petitions, exam processes and scheduling, and other related items. He also helps organize graduate student events and workshops, serves on the department graduate committee, assists with department travel arrangements and Shared Service Center (SSC) correspondence, is a content manager and creator for the department website, and serves as the initial contact for the APS Bridge Program at KU. Joel has been with the Physics & Astronomy Department since 2016 and joined the COGA team in 2019. He earned his B.A. in History from the University of Kansas in 2011. Joel has work experience in the environmental sector, tech industry, and taught English in Korea for a stint. In his free time Joel likes to travel, play tennis, swim, cook, read, and relax.
