Student Doing Research at the KU Field Station

Looking for employment at KU and beyond?

While most students are funded through Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA), Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA) and other departmental Graduate Assistantships (GA), there are numerous employment opportunities at KU and beyond.

For more information and resources regarding GRA, GTA and GA appointment, visit Graduate Studies' GTA / GRA / GA page

On-Campus Employment Resources

Offices and departments across campus have student hourly positions - some of which are open to all students and some of which are open only to graduate students. There may also be Graduate Assistant (GA) opportunities within units such as the Spencer Museum of Art, Biodiversity Institute and other student service and administrative offices. These GA positions are salaried and are not to be confused with departmental GRA/GTA/GA positions. Explore these opportunities under student positions on the KU Employment website.

Please note that if you already hold a GTA, GRA, or GA position, you will be limited to the number of hours per week you can hold an additional student hourly position. Please check with your faculty advisor or Graduate Coordinator for guidance.
