Campus & Community Engagement

Engaging and connecting with fellow students, faculty, and staff across campus and building your community is one of many wonderful aspects of graduate education. There are many offices and centers across campus that offer programming and events to engage with fellow students and faculty.

The Student Engagement Center

The Student Engagement Center at the University of Kansas serves as a hub for student involvement, leadership development, impact programs and resources, and community programs.

Graduate Student Organizations

There are over 100 graduate student organizations (GSO) across campus - many developed around a department or professional organization. Check out RockChalkCentral to view these GSOs or ask fellow grad students if there is a GSO in your department.

Multicultural Student Groups

There are several campus organizations aimed at connecting people so that they can share their culture and advocate for their communities. Some of these groups are graduate student specific and others include students at all levels.

Lt. Gen. William K. Jones Military-Affiliated Student Center

The Military-Affiliated Student Center serves as KU's centralized resource for the military-affiliated community, enabling students to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals as they move to, through and beyond the University.

Student Affairs

Student Affairs coordinates and develops student support services and programs and serves as an advocate for student needs across the university community that contribute to overall academic success.

Center for Community Outreach

The Center for Community Outreach (CCO) connects students to volunteer opportunities and community service, as well as volunteer training, speakers, workshops, and a volunteer resource library.
