It's easy for health and wellness to take a backseat to the pressures of graduate school. There are a number of resources and services to help you adjust, manage stress, and find a support network on campus that works for you.

KU Recreation Services

The student Rec Center provides a variety of resources for physical fitness, sports, classes, and personal training. The indoor and outdoor facilities accommodate a broad range of athleticism - from beginners looking to improve your health with low impact exercise, to seasoned athletes aspiring to push their physical abilities to the next level. If you are a student, you are automatically a member of the Rec Center!

Watkins Health Services

Located in Watkins Memorial Health Center, Watkins Health Services (WHS) provides comprehensive medical care and outreach programs through a team of dedicated professionals.

Health Education Resource Office (HERO)

The Health Education Resource Office (HERO) provides services that support students in many different dimensions of wellness. They provide health education programming and coaching on many topics such as stress reduction, self-management, nutrition, and sexual health.

Lawrence Parks & Recreation

The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department aims to provide excellent city services and enhance the quality of life for the Lawrence community. The department has developed many programs for the community, including hike/bike trails, golf, forestry, and other quality of life programs and facilities. The department currently offers more than 150 programs and activities each season for all ages to keep active. Admission to Sports Pavilion Lawrence® at Rock Chalk Park is free for Douglas County Residents.
