Biography

As Assistant Director of COGA, Brittney Tyler-Milholland provides leadership to the College Office of Graduate Affairs, including initial and ongoing training of new coordinators, recruitment and admission policy and process, and accelerated MA programs. She also provides professional development content, program planning, and workshops for all units in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Brittney started at KU in 2014 in the Department of English to pursue her Ph.D. in English-Rhetoric and Composition. During this time, Brittney began serving KU graduate students as the administrative intern to the First and Second Year (FSY) English Program and as the administrative intern in the KU Writing Center, as well as serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the FSY English Program. Shortly upon degree completion in 2018, Brittney started as an Academic Advisor for Speech-Language Hearing: Sciences and Disorders and in 2019 began supporting Applied Behavioral Sciences. In 2019, Brittney also started providing training for the COGA unit in admission policy and practice and for accelerated MA programs, as part of her Senior Graduate Program Coordinator position. She continued to support SPLH and ABS as Graduate Program Coordinator until 2024. In 2023, Brittney was appointed Assistant Director.

Brittney earned her B.A. in English Literature at Washburn University in 2011, her M.A. in English Literature with an emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric from Kansas State University in 2014, and her Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Kansas in 2018.
